For Buyers
- Always inspect the item in person before paying.
- Meet the seller in a public, busy place during the day.
- Never send money before receiving the item unless you use a trusted escrow service like Kenya Escrow.
- Ask for original receipts, serial numbers, or proof of ownership.
- Avoid deals that seem too good to be true.
- Do not share your M-Pesa PIN or bank details with anyone.
- Report suspicious listings or users immediately.
For Sellers
- Provide clear, honest photos and descriptions of your items.
- Respond to messages promptly and professionally.
- Meet buyers in safe, public places such as malls or police stations.
- Confirm payment before handing over the item.
- Do not accept overpayments or complicated payment arrangements.
- Keep proof of delivery or sale where possible.
- Block and report buyers who are abusive or pushy.
Watch for scams
Pressure to pay fast, unusual payment methods, and unrealistic prices are red flags.
